Getting there

La Chartreuse is in the Dordogne in south-west France, near Bergerac. We'll send the exact address and directions to everyone who RSVPs.

Flying

Bergerac (EGC) is the closest airport — a short drive from the venue — with direct flights from several UK airports in summer. Airlines publish summer 2027 schedules roughly 9–12 months ahead, so from autumn 2026 check the airport's route list and book early — it's a small airport and wedding-weekend flights fill up.

Bordeaux (BOD) is the backup: about an hour and a half by car from the venue, with far more flights from the UK and Europe year-round. If Bergerac dates don't line up, fly to Bordeaux and hire a car — the drive through the vineyards is lovely.

Driving from the UK

Roughly 8–9 hours from Calais, mostly on autoroutes (allow for tolls). Very doable over two days with an overnight stop — the Loire is about halfway. Ferries to Caen or St-Malo shorten the French leg.

Once you're there

You'll want a car. The venue is rural and taxis are scarce, so hire one at the airport — book well ahead for late July, which is peak season. Guests who'd rather not drive: tell us in the RSVP notes and we'll help match you with someone who is.

Once you know your travel plans, add your arrival and departure dates in the guest portal — it helps us plan Friday and Monday, and helps us pair up car-sharers.
